The main port news from Chile and Latin AmericaYour email (required)By Editorial PortalPortuario.clMAN Energy Solutions received an order to supply a total of seven gas scrubbers for a new FPSO vessel off the coast of Brazil.Yinson, a global energy solutions provider based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has commissioned MAN Energy Solutions to provide five scrubbers for gas production and export.For the same FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) asset, MAN is also supplying another two, to be used as gas recovery systems.All scrubbers will be deployed at the Maria Quitéria FPSO (previously called the Integrated FPSO Parque das Baleias “IPB”), which is located about 80 kilometers off the coast of Anchieta (Espírito Santo, Brazil) in the Jubarte Field in the north of the Campos Basin.The field is operated by Petrobas and is located at a water depth of approximately 1,300 meters.Once ready to operate at the end of 2024, the FPSO will have a production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil and five million Sm3 of gas per day.Basil Zweifel, Senior Vice President of Sales and Project Management at MAN Energy Solutions, said: “We are proud that Yinson has once again placed their trust in our technology and expertise.As with FPSO Anna Nery, our first large-scale joint venture offshore project in Brazil, MAN will supply the complete compressor technology solution for the new FPSO Maria Quitéria.We have been able to demonstrate the capabilities of our flexible, reliable and energy efficient technology solutions in recent years through numerous FPSO projects in Asia, Central and South America, as well as West Africa.We are now looking forward to the opportunity to work with Yinson again on this important project for the Brazilian energy market.”MAN Energy Solutions' scope of supply comprises three type RB 45 radial scrubbers as low-pressure systems and two type RB 28 as high-pressure systems, each driven by an electric motor.The machines will be used for both gas extraction and gas export applications in order to maximize the flow rate and efficiency of gas production.The two SKUEL321/CP200 screw scrubbers will be driven by electric motors and will be used as vapor recovery units.Screw compressors pressurize the resulting flash gas and feed it back into the process instead of burning it.This process not only increases the efficiency of gas production, but also significantly reduces your CO2 emissions.
