This article is sponsored by Compressed Air Systems, Inc., a distributor of industrial air compressors, process chillers, nitrogen generators, and more.

Compressed Air Systems, Inc. opened in 1963 with just 5 employees. Over the years, the company has grown significantly, now employing over 55 team members and occupying a 30,000 square-foot facility in Tampa, Florida, and a 4,000 square-foot facility in Central Florida. Compressed Air Systems specializes in air compressor, vacuum, blower, nitrogen and process chiller systems, and their sales department is backed by their in-house installation, rental, and service departments.

“Our products started with air compressors and sandblasting,” says Kyle Randall, vice president and director of sales. “Then, in 1986 we took on Kaeser air compressors and rotary screws as our main product line. In the last decade, we expanded our product lines and added nitrogen generation, process chillers, vacuum pumps, blowers, and more. We became specialists in all these areas — so now we don’t just offer compressed air, we offer all sorts of industrial products.”

Compressed Air Systems is proudly celebrating nearly 60 years of delivering superior equipment design and engineering, custom turnkey installations, compressed air leak detection and elimination, air compressor rentals and services, and more. Compressed Air Systems delivers a wide variety of industrial equipment for industries ranging from medical and aerospace to food & beverage, electronics, and many more.

Kyle Randall (KR): Two of the biggest industries we work with are aerospace and food & beverage. We’ve worked with NASA Blue Origin and SpaceX applications to deliver air compressor systems and custom installations that meet the stringent demands of the aerospace industry. We can provide solutions for a wide range of aerospace applications, including ground support equipment, workholding devices, test bench supply, aircraft wing structural testing, aircraft engine manufacturing, and more.

For the food & beverage industry, the purity of compressed air is especially important, as contaminated air can compromise product quality and negatively impact operations. We deliver specialized compressed air solutions that comply with the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) to ensure clean air for applications such as liquid aeration, fermentation, storage, and packaging. CAS also offers nitrogen generators and converts the food industry customers who rely on costly nitrogen to be delivered in bulk to generate the nitrogen themselves with compressed air/nitrogen systems with a very quick ROI and not have to rely on the changing costs of gas and delivery.

Two of the more unique industries we work with include recreation. Amusement Park rides that rely on air-powered brakes, or to operate the animations as well. We recently helped design part of the new EPCOT fireworks show at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and provided a great space and money-saving solution that is now in full operation. We can provide the necessary solutions to support virtually any unique application.

KR: On the service side of things, we get asked how fast we can get a technician out to a site. We prioritize any customer experiencing downtime and do our best to dispatch technicians within 24 hours — or sooner, if possible! On the product and engineering side, our air consultants and sales engineers often get questions like: “Do I have the proper air storage and correct air piping?”

A lot of these questions come up during our free walkthrough analysis. During this analysis, one of our systems specialists visits the customer’s site and examines how a compressed air system solution could address various challenges the customer is facing. Once any issues are identified, we can address them and save companies a lot of money.

Some customers also ask how we can support them in other areas of their business. We service customers that already have air compressors and rotating equipment, but by adding more products like vacuum pumps, nitrogen generators, and blowers to our offerings we’re able to provide even more value and act as a single-source solution for our customers.

KR: Some of our biggest attributes include our competitiveness, reliability, flexibility, and knowledge. Flexibility is really important with our customers because we are able to adapt to certain schedules and any changes made throughout a project. We do our best to maintain effective communication to ensure projects are completed as seamlessly as possible. We also provide after-sales support and 24-hour service so that our customers have the equipment they need with little to no downtime.

KR: We have a consistently growing customer base. To ensure that we can meet all of their needs and deliver the after-sales support they need, we will continue to add highly-trained and qualified technicians to our team.

We give all of our technicians as much training as we can because we understand that not doing so will cause us to fall behind and do our customers a disservice. We sell technologically advanced products, so we’ll continue to do what we need to keep up with the times.

We are extremely proud when our customers recognize our members for carrying themselves professionally and treating everyone like family, including our clients. As our general manager Blake Waring says, ‘It’s a family business, and we run it like that. We take our customers in and try to help them as much as we can.’ We’ve had a number of customers share testimonials about working with us that I’d like to share:

“I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate your knowledge, willingness to teach and mentor, competitive pricing, and your outstanding service.” – Jason Lorenz at ISP Corp.

“Mike kept excellent communication with our site team and work was completed successfully.” – Oscar Fleitas at Amazon Air at KLAL Lakeland

“I could not have been more impressed with how your employees represent your company. They’re friendly and professional, as well as thorough and knowledgeable about their craft.” – Brad Knight, Service Manager at Sun State Ford
